Well, I can say very confidently that I'm still not exactly a fan of breaches, although I suppose it could have been substantially worse.

[She hasn't been forced into having a relationship with anyone she can't stand on the Barge, she hasn't been killed or had to do some horribly embarrassing job, or remember a life where she actually did answer to Miss Stephanie Broadchest. That was certainly something she could do without.

But she's still not a fan. Oh well.]

I've found myself at a bit of a loose ends since Mr. Wilson graduated, apart from the plans to get classes up and running for anyone interested, so if there are any departments that need an extra set of hands, I'd be happy to help. I have to admit, I don't do too well without having some work to do.

Is there anyone here who actually likes them?

I think there are a few people who don't necessarily mind the chance to be a pirate for a few days.

That was fun, but only for a one-off.

Not a fan of bad hygiene.

Not necessarily different from my actual job.

Fancy coming and 'elping at the spa? Although between you and me, there's no one coming 'ere yet, so we'd just be sitting 'round sipping Mai Tais and painting each other's toenails. Or orchestrating a subliminal marketing campaign on the network till we've got 'em queueing three deep for massage therapy. Whichever sounds more fun to you.

I appreciate the offer, but I'm not sure that's really my cup of tea.

What sort of classes are there?

Standard American high school courses. I think there have been volunteers for most of the sciences, psychology, English, foreign language, history, and I've offered to teach mathematics.

And everyone gets involved in them?

Thus far, only a few people have shown an interest.

I can see why people wouldn't take an interest. [ Not to be rude, just honest. Most people aren't like her that would willingly do this ] It's high school classes. If you did them the first time you're unlikely to want to do them again.

It's for the people who didn't have the opportunity to finish high school, but still wish to further their education.

And how many exactly is that?

Last time we spoke about it, I believe we had four or so people interested.

That's fine. And whatever time works best for you and your helpers should be fine with us.

Heh. Helpers. I'll bring G and we'll knock it out in a couple hours, take about an afternoon for full cleanup, provided the Admiral gets me all the supplies I need in a timely fashion.

I can't say I have much to complain about. I certainly would like to find something that's actually productive to do.

Busy. Which, in a place like this, is hit or miss some months but I'll take what I can get.

And to be honest, I just wish there was some work I could be doing, but unfortunately, my job back home isn't exactly adaptable to this setting.

Math? It can be, when it isn't just keeping track of how many mops and brooms we have on board.

And it's not just mops and brooms. There's inventory in the infirmary, too, and the kitchens.

It's still basic addition, but I suppose it's better than nothing. Thank you, Mr. Winchester.

Well, at least around here it's usually the subtraction you have to worry about more.
